This charming romantic setting in a grand historic homestead in Nelson, one of New Zealand's most beautiful cities.
The homestead and our suites are large but we are an intimate size. We only have two suites available so you can be sure that your stay will be relaxing and peaceful. As your hosts we respect your need for private time amongst the pampering and attention you receive during your stay with us. You will be welcome into our caring environment and will not be bustled amongst a stampede of other guests.
Nelson Bed and Breakfast
Much care has been taken to create a harmonious and relaxing environment with fine furnishings, beautiful antiques, exquisite fabrics (silks and satins) and a private collection of international artworks.

Long Lookout Gardens has two fine accommodation suites each with its own character and charm.
Both have private ensuites and visitors have use of all of the bed and breakfast facilities that Long Lookout Gardens have on offer.
The suites are named after the first owners of Long Lookout Gardens. The first family to own the homestead was the Richmond Family in 1864. They then sold it to the Hunter-Brown Family in 1866 who gave it the name Long Lookout.
Richmond Room
This large room is located on the ground floor. Exquisitely furbished in luxurious silks and satins with an open fire, queen bed and views over the garden. It also has under carpet heating and a security safe.
It has it's own beautiful ensuite bathroom complete with a bath with under tile heating.
This suite has it’s own private entrance and can be closed off from the rest of the house if you need solitude.

Hunter-Brown Room
The large room is located upstairs to ensure guest privacy for those that want it.
The views from this room are magnificient, looking out over the landscaped garden towards Nelson City onto the Tasman Bay seascape and distant mountains.
This Hunter Brown Suite has a super-king bed and is opulently furbished in luxurious silks and satins with in a theme of black and gold.
This room can also be made available as a twin room. Please request on booking.
This special room has its very own private balcony overlooking the west garden.
It also has its own spacious bathroom to match the stylish suite theme colours.
